Research Experience
I am currently supported by the NIDA T32 program as a postdoctoral fellow while also pursuing a doctorate in pharmaceutical evaluation and policy at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Under the mentorship of Bradley C. Martin, Pharm.D., Ph.D., I am involved in a retrospective cohort study evaluating the impact of physical therapy and chiropractic care on the prevalence of long-term opioid therapy in patients with newly diagnosed lower back pain. The goal of this research is to identify modifiable risk factors for long-term opioid use in treating lower back pain so that more individualized treatment plans for initial pain management can be implemented.
Research Interests
My primary research interests include utilizing Arkansas prescription drug monitoring program data in order to identify common trends in opioid abuse and diversion so that targeted strategies can be designed and implemented in the community pharmacy setting.
