In the spring of 2019, the Office of Research and Innovation received $300,000 from Chancellor Patterson for year end funding. This funding made possible the following grant opportunities:
- Shovel Ready Pilot Grants
($10,000 awards) – to generate additional data for a successful application/resubmission.
- Just in Time Core Usage Awards
(up to $5,000 awards) – proteomics, genomics, pathology, microscopy, transgenic animal cores, informatics, curation of clinical or population data, and other fee-for-service research.
- Shared Equipment/Software Award
(up to $50,000 awards) – for new research tools and/or software to strengthen collaborations.
- Conference/Travel Award
($1,200 awards) – to augment mentoring opportunities for established investigators and enhance visibility of junior colleagues through attending regional/national meetings together.
