NIH Grant-Writing Boot Camp
April 15-16, 2024
Ferncliff Camp and Conference Center, Little Rock
One of the most difficult parts of writing a grant is simply the act of writing the grant. The Division of Research and Innovation NIH Grant-Writing Boot Camp is designed to facilitate the writing process, while also teaching fundamental skills for writing a successful Research Strategy of an NIH grant application. The learning process is enhanced by immersing participants in 2 full days of learning, critically evaluating, and writing in a natural setting that takes them away from the distractions and demands of being on campus.
Our Mission
The Science Communication Group (SciCom) is a scientific editing resource available to UAMS investigators at no cost.
Our primary mission is to help investigators produce clear and concise writing to increase their chances of obtaining extramural research funding or publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
Our work ranges from proofreading for grammar and usage to more substantive editing to improve the organization and presentation of writing.
Working with Science Communication Group editors is a mentoring experience that can improve an investigator’s skills for using language, formatting, and visuals to effectively deliver their message to the target audience.
The Science Communication Group can also assist in the preparation and submission of complex and large multi-investigator funding applications.
We invite you to further browse the Science Communication Group website to explore the services we offer and to learn about the expertise of our staff. Also, please visit the Resources page.
