When might research security review be required? 

If you are planning to engage in international research activities or collaborations, hosting visiting students or faculty, or undertaking consulting activities, or if you are planning foreign travel for business purposes, you can contact us if you cannot find the information on the security site that pertains to your needs.

Will there be an issue if I am only communicating with an international researcher?

In general, communicating with an international researcher about a potential international collaboration without sharing any unpublished data or specifics is not a concern.

Is research security compliance only required for activities involving certain countries, such as China?

Research security compliance applies to all international research activities or collaborations involving any countries.

I have been invited to give a talk at a conference in a foreign country. What do I need to do?
