The Bhuvan Award for Excellence in Biochemistry Graduate Research

The Bhuvan Award for Excellence in Biochemistry Graduate Research was established by colleagues in the Colleges of Medicine and Pharmacy in memory of Dr. Bhuvaneswaran, a faculty member in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Known affectionately as Dr. Bhuvan by students and colleagues, he was a superb experimentalist whose laboratory fostered lifelong learning. Revering the teacher above all in his culture, his highest aspiration was to earn respect as a mentor. Beyond formal contributions to graduate and medical education, he nurtured a love of science in young scientists.

PhD students with research related to biochemistry will be enrolled in this category and are eligible. The award, presented at Student Research Day, is based on judges’ assessments of poster presentations.
