Personal Statement
I am a postdoctoral fellow supported by the NIDA T32 Addiction Training Program, working under the mentorship of Dr. George Pro. I have more than 10 years of experience in public health research and practice. My research interests include substance use, health disparities, sexual health, and implementation science. I examine factors associated with substance use treatment outcomes among two vulnerable populations – pregnant people and adolescents. I use big administrative datasets and national survey data to identify emerging trends in health services and help-seeking behavior. As a T32 scholar, I aim to strengthen my foundation in addiction research and become an expert in sophisticated analytic methods to improve the lives of people who use and are affected by drugs. My goal is to become a faculty member and independent researcher.
