Research Review Mechanisms

Protecting the Rights and Welfare of Human and Animal Subjects

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences has revised its human subjects-related research requirements. Learn more.

The UAMS Institutional Review Board protects the rights and welfare of subjects involved in the human research that it oversees. Similarly, the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (intranet link) monitors and protects the welfare of animal subjects involved in the biomedical research. The UAMS Institutional Biosafety Committee is also crucial to the proper implementation of biomedical research.

For updates, protocol review, and other research details please visit the research review board or committee links above. You will also find links to various research support/review groups on the Research Resources webpage.
