The UAMS Institutional Review Board protects the rights and welfare of subjects involved in the human research that it oversees. Similarly, the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (intranet link) monitors and protects the welfare of animal subjects involved in the biomedical research. The UAMS Institutional Biosafety Committee is also crucial to the proper implementation of biomedical research.
