The Development Enhancement Awards for Proposals (DEAP) grant program provides funds to address comments or needed revisions for new/established faculty members from all UAMS colleges who have received a score on an unsuccessful proposal submitted to a federal agency/foundation. Development Enhancement Awards for Proposals grants help PIs obtain additional data to respond directly to reviewers’ comments and increase a revised application’s competitiveness. Development Enhancement Awards for Proposals funding is strictly limited to strengthening the reapplication of a scored proposal and must be submitted within 12 months of receiving reviewers’ comments.
All Development Enhancement Awards for Proposals recipients must submit a final report on the outcome of the resubmitted grant, as well as a list of pertinent publications/submitted grant applications. Acknowledgment of DEAP funding source in publications and annual reports is also required.
Budget: Applicants may request up to $50,000 to reapply for external grants with a budget of $200,000 in annual direct cost or higher; and up to $25,000 for external grants with a budget of less than $200,000 annual direct cost. Funds must be spent within 12 months post-award.
