Program Overview:
The NIH (National Institutes of Health) “Research Supplements to Promote Diversity in Health-Related Research” (PA-23-189) is a program designed to enhance diversity and promote inclusivity in biomedical research. It provides additional funding to existing NIH-funded research projects to support the recruitment and career development of individuals from underrepresented backgrounds in biomedical, behavioral, clinical, social, and basic sciences research.
The NIH Diversity Supplements align with UAMS’s strategic plan, Vision 2029. A core objective of Vision 2029 is to enhance the recruitment and retention of a workforce that encompasses a wide range of backgrounds, skills, and perspectives. These supplements play a pivotal role in supporting the mission of UAMS to foster inclusivity and diversity as integral components of its long-term strategic vision.
