Full Accreditation from the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs, Inc.

The UAMS Institutional Review Board has been fully accredited by the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs since 2005.

US Public Health Service Syphilis Study

The ethically problematic US Public Health Service Syphilis Study at Tuskegee led to Congressional action that eventually required human subject protections in research across the United States.
