For some multisite studies, investigators may, or must, have a single institutional review board act as the overseeing institutional review board. Keep reading for an introduction to the steps required for either a UAMS investigator to rely on an external institutional review board, or for the UAMS Institutional Review Board to act as the institutional review board of record for multisite research.
Single/Central IRB is a review model to allow multiple institutions that are conducting the same protocol to use a single IRB for review, instead of using multiple IRBs to review the research for each individual site.
NEW: As of January 2, 2025, study teams must submit reliance request forms to the UAMS IRB to either rely on an external IRB or to have the UAMS IRB act as a reviewing IRB.
Please complete the appropriate form below to initiate this process.
