The Institutional Review Board full board meetings are scheduled for 2 p.m. the first four Tuesdays of each month. The Institutional Review Board does not meet on the fifth Tuesday of months that have one or on UAMS holidays that fall on a Tuesday.
IRB meetings are now held virtually via web-based meeting applications.
The Institutional Review Board usually places items on the first available full board agenda after receipt and processing in the Institutional Review Board office. However, agenda placement may also depend on availability of enough appropriately qualified reviewers.
Note that many submissions undergo other pre-reviews prior to arriving at the Institutional Review Board office; those pre-reviews are outside the Institutional Review Board’s control. A submission’s status can be tracked in the study’s “History” tab at the top of the page or on the “Review Status” tab at upper right in Clinical Research Administration (CLARA).
Because convened meetings are held remotely, IRB meetings will typically be held as scheduled in the event of inclement weather. However, specific conditions may lead to a case-by-case decision regarding whether a regularly scheduled meeting will proceed as planned.
