The Institutional Review Board full board meetings are scheduled for 2 p.m. the first four Tuesdays of each month. The Institutional Review Board does not meet on the fifth Tuesday of months that have one or on UAMS holidays that fall on a Tuesday.
When on campus, meetings are held in UAMS Biomedical Research Center I, 205/207. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, meetings have been held virtually via web-based meeting applications.
The Institutional Review Board places items on the first available full board agenda after receipt and processing in the Institutional Review Board office. Note that many submissions undergo other pre-reviews prior to arriving at the Institutional Review Board office; those pre-reviews are outside the Institutional Review Board’s control. A submission’s status can be tracked in the study’s “History” tab at the top of the page or on the “Review Status” tab at upper right in Clinical Research Administration (CLARA).
The Institutional Review Board may not meet on Tuesdays when the inclement weather policy, requiring non-essential staff to stay home, is invoked. This decision will be made on a case-by-case basis as long as remote meetings continue.
