A new course discussing the return to campuses in the fall, when we may be still be dealing with Covid-19, is now available via UAMS’ CITI training course. The course was developed by CITI and the Association of American Medical Colleges. The course “provides an overview of COVID-19, prevention strategies, recommended laboratory practices, and points to consider as students, staff, and faculty move forward to a return to activities and operations within medical school and research institution settings. Supplemental modules focused on topics related to research with human subjects, animal care and use, and working with patients who may be infected or suspected with COVID-19 provide learners the option to review these topics if applicable to their current work or school setting.”
There are 6 modules total. Some talk about Covid-19 generally, but there’s one titled “Human Subject Research” that will be of interest to the research community. You can access the course by logging in at citiprogram.org, going to the list of UAMS courses, and then clicking on the “additional course” link on that page.
Note that the course will be available only until Oct. 1.
