We are thrilled to announce we have posted Marshallese and Spanish language versions of our new short form consent templates. Arkansas has sizeable populations of people whose primary language is Marshallese or Spanish, and having these forms readily available will make it easier to discuss research participation with members of these groups.
Note that the template should be used exactly as written, with the only changes made in the yellow-highlighted areas. Keep in mind that while these short form consent forms are downloadable and ready for adaptation for your study, the use of a short form consent process must be approved by the IRB before such a process occurs. Please see IRB Policy 15.4, Non-English-Speaking Subjects and When Short Form of Consent is Allowed for more details about how to carry out a consent process using the short form.
