Here’s a reminder the UAMS IRB has NOT dropped its requirement that the person obtaining consent sign the consent form when a written form is used. An early iteration of the RCR-compliance plain language consent form on our website accidentally omitted the person obtaining consent signature line. We apologize for that error, and have since fixed it on our template. (We also thank the eagle-eyed study coordinator who called us to point out the omission, that somehow everyone who reviewed the form before posting missed!) However, some consent forms that have been in the works for several weeks may have used an early version of the form without that signature line. So please make sure any written consent forms include that signature line.
