The Administrative Guide policy about Honest Brokers in Research, policy no. 16.1.19, has been updated to make it easier for staff to document their qualifications and training to act as an honest broker. Honest Brokers provide de-identified data and samples to investigators for the purpose of research. Rather than the application, certification, and audit processes previously required, anyone acting as an Honest Broker under the new policy will instead complete the “Attestation of Honest Broker Responsibilities” form attached to the policy, attesting to their understanding of the policy and certifying their acceptance of the responsibilities it describes. The attestation form is to be uploaded to the individual’s CLARA profile, similar to how investigators currently upload their CV in CLARA.
