Big news! We are thrilled to announce the expected speaker lineup at the next meeting of our Research Ethics Book and Journal Club. The book we’ll talk about is “Chasing My Cure.” The best part? Our scheduled speakers are Dr. David Fajgenbaum, who wrote the book, and our very own Dr. Frits van Rhee, who figures prominently in its pages. Drs. van Rhee and Fajgenbaum also cofounded the Castleman Disease Collaborative Network. If our memory serves (it has been a while since we tore through the book over here), the two men met when Dr. Fajgenbaum became Dr. van Rhee’s patient.
This will be a virtual live event via Zoom (or similar) and is slated for Sept. 30, 2022, at 9:30 a.m. Central Time. (On 9/30 at 9:30 — see what we did there?)
We hope to make an announcement soon about having a limited number of books available to distribute by early June. Stay tuned. Feel free to get a copy from the library or from a used book sale in the interim, though.
