Although it wasn’t easy — some behind-the-scenes server switching caused the IRB’s web page to go a little kablooie — we finally were able to get some updated IRB policies posted.
All of the current policies can be found on the IRB’s webpage. Retired policies are archived on the policy archive webpage.
The most notable changes of interest to research teams were made in the following three policies:
IRB Policy 7.5, Expedited Review, and IRB Policy 7.6, Continuing Review, were updated to better describe requirements under the Revised Common Rule, and to simplify some language.
IRB Policy 17.11, Data and Specimens in Research, was basically updated throughout.
We also took this opportunity to update some policies that describe internal IRB operations, and/or had weird little typos and formatting errors that have been bugging us for ages.
