Dr. Thomas Kieber-Emmons’ investigational breast cancer vaccine is working its way through the clinical trial process (it’s now in a phase II trial), and this research is a prime example of how all of UAMS research resources work together to make this kind of activity possible. A recent article on the TRI website describes how the expertise available through the Office of Research Regulatory Affairs supported this project since its inception. Of note, Kieber-Emmons points out that his previous employer would have had to hire an outside contract firm to handle many of the responsibilities UAMS is able to handle in-house. We encourage everyone to read the article to get a better idea of the scope of research services available to the UAMS research community.
