When creating a new CLARA submission, please remember CLARA sends studies to several administrative offices, and not just to the UAMS IRB. In fact, the IRB is the last place your study will go once you’ve “signed and submitted” it in CLARA. Pharmacy, legal, hospital compliance, Research Regulatory Affairs, and biosafety are just some of the offices that may need to see research before it is sent to the UAMS IRB, and those offices all use CLARA to review and track studies. Note the IRB is last because any of those other offices may require changes to the submission or to study documents, and the IRB needs to have the final versions available for review.
So keep in mind that a) hitting that sign-and-submit button does not immediately send a study to the IRB for review, and b) completing the new submission form carefully and thoroughly helps your study get routed correctly, which in turn helps it get approved faster.
